Description

Beautifully Toned MS67 1912-S Half Dollar
Tied for Finest Certified

1912-S 50C MS67 NGC. Only two 1912-S half dollars have received a grade of MS67 from either of the major grading services--the Hugon specimen, which we sold in our January 2005 FUN Auction, and the present piece. The Hugon coin was described as having semiprooflike surfaces, but that is not the case with this coin, which is covered throughout in a pleasing iridescent satin luster. Sharply struck, with a trace of weakness visible only on the right (facing) wing and the shield opposite. As befits the grade, the surfaces have minimal abrasions, none of which distract, and few of which are visible without a loupe. This coin presents an opportunity to acquire the finest possible example of this issue, and as such should attract spirited bidding.(Registry values: N7079)
