Description

Marvelous 1914-S Barber Half, MS65

1914-S 50C MS65 PCGS. CAC. Here is another extremely important condition rarity among the later Barber half dollars, easy to obtain in all grades through Choice Mint State, but virtually impossible to obtain in Gem grades. The opportunity to acquire any of Dale Friend's coins, from 1892 to 1915, coins of incredible quality, should be viewed as one of the most important numismatic events of the present generation.
While slightly weak right of the shield as usual, this is an amazing example with otherwise bold design definition, satiny luster, and medium gold toning on the obverse, lighter green on the reverse. Population: 12 in 65, 4 finer (10/08).
Ex: Dennis Nagy.
