Description

1909 Barber Half, MS66
Vibrant Luster, CAC, Ex: Hugon

1909 50C MS66 PCGS. CAC. Flashy and bright, with great luster and rich mint frost. We note a blush of light gold near the rims, yet this coin is mostly white. A sharp strike attends the central motifs, and only a trace of weakness is seen on the arrow feathers. Close examination will find few noteworthy marks on the obverse, and the reverse is similarly attractive, but we do note a couple of scuffs just above the arrowheads and a tiny milling mark above the A in DOLLAR. This coin is about as fine as any seen of this date, with no numerically finer coins shown at either PCGS or NGC, although PCGS reports five pieces in MS66+ (3/20).(Registry values: N2998)
