Magnificently Toned 1892 MS 68 Barber Quarter
1892 25C MS 68 NGC. The majority of 1892 Barber quarters are extremely well produced and the issue was widely saved as a first year type coin, thus Choice and Gem examples are the most plentiful in the series. Few, however, can match the magnificence of this piece. The fact that it is fully defined and boasts scintillating luster is hardly surprising, but the coloration exhibited here is nothing short of awe-inspiring. The center of the obverse is coated with rich orange and rose iridescence, and there are spectacular bluish-green peripheral highlights. Somewhat lower on the eye appeal meter is the mixture of orange and blue pastel toning that blankets the reverse.
