    Description

    1894-O Quarter, MS66
    Consistently Toned, Lovely Surfaces

1894-O 25C MS66 PCGS. CAC. This delightful New Orleans Premium Gem quarter exhibits exceptionally frosty, delicate luster underlying blended shades of mint-green, lemon-gold, lavender-gray, and aqua-blue toning. Trivial softness appears on the eagle's right (facing) talons, but the strike is otherwise sharp. Only a few wispy grazes on the obverse preclude an even finer assessment from PCGS.

Population Data (9/15): This piece is tied with nine others as the finest at PCGS; NGC has seen seven examples in this grade (one in MS66 ) and a single MS67 finer.

Heritage Commentary: The 1894-O Barber quarter is seldom seen in any Mint State grade, and when found, is almost always MS64 or lower. Gem or finer representatives, such as this Premium Gem, are significant rarities and in high demand among Registry Set competitors.

    Provenance: Purchased from Legend Numismatics (12/2011).(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 23Y2, PCGS# 5608)

    Weight: 6.25 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
