    Description

    Elusive MS63 1897-S Quarter

1897-S 25C MS63 PCGS. The 1897-S Barber quarter had a mintage of only 542,229 pieces, an amount likely overshadowed by the much lower total of the previous years's 1896-S. Even circulated examples of the 1897-S are nonetheless seldom seen. This Select piece offers lustrous silver-gray surfaces that are sharply defined and minimally abraded. Glints of pastel pink and blue appear on the reverse. Population: 10 in 63, 30 finer (8/11).
    Ex: Palm Beach Signature (Heritage, 3/2005), lot 5600.(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 23YC, PCGS# 5618)

    Weight: 6.25 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
