    Description

    1898-S Barber Quarter, MS64+
    Sharply Struck and Richly Toned

1898-S 25C MS64+ PCGS. The 1898-S is a better date in the Barber quarter series, perhaps because many coins were exported for use in the Philippines. This Plus-graded Choice example is sharply detailed throughout. Some clash marks show in Liberty's ear, a feature we have noticed on some other high-grade specimens of this issue. The well-preserved surfaces are blanketed in iridescent shades of golden-brown, gray, and violet toning. Housed in a new 30th Anniversary green label holder. Population: 10 in 64 (1 in 64+), 10 finer (6/16).(Registry values: N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23YF, PCGS# 5621)

    Weight: 6.25 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
