    Elusive in Mint State

    1898-S 25C MS64 PCGS. The 1898-S Barber quarter is a scarce date in Uncirculated condition, regardless of grade. This near-Gem example has few superiors. The strike is sharp throughout, and each side displays dusky olive-gold toning over frosty surfaces. A few minor abrasions are not distracting. Population: 11 in 64 (1 in 64+), 10 finer (8/16).
