    Description

    1900-O Barber Quarter, MS67
    In a Prior Generation Holder

1900-O 25C MS67 NGC. CAC. Soft, satiny luster resides beneath concentric patina that shows warm orange-gold and amber hues in the centers, with deeper aqua-blue and rose-gray around the peripheries. The reverse arrow fletchings, as well as several obverse stars, show minor striking weakness, not unusual for this New Orleans product.

Population Data (9/15): There are only two MS67 at NGC (one MS67 ) and a single MS68 finer; PCGS lists one each in MS67, MS67+, and MS68+.

Heritage Commentary: The 1900-O Barber quarter is seldom thought of as a significant semikey date, but its scarcity in Mint State is undeniable. Gem examples are seldom seen, and finer pieces are major rarities.

Provenance: Purchased from David Lawrence Rare Coins (11/1998).(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 23YL, PCGS# 5626)

    Weight: 6.25 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
