The Finest Certified

1901 25C MS67 NGC. The 1901 quarter, coming from a generous mintage approaching 9 million pieces, is an important condition rarity. It can be located with patience and searching in the lower levels of Mint State, but higher-grade examples are extremely challenging.
The Superb Gem offering in this lot is the finest certified example seen by either NGC or PCGS (10/09). Radiant luster jumps out at the observer, and both sides are draped in waves of gorgeous electric-blue, sea-green, lavender, orange, and golden-orange toning in the fields. This colorful display sets off the primarily silver-gray portrait of Liberty and the brighter silver-gold eagle. A well executed strike emboldens the design elements, leaving only the arrow feathers and adjacent claw with minor weakness. Immaculately preserved surfaces round out the coin's eye appealing attributes.
