Description
Noteworthy VF25 1901-S Quarter
1901-S 25C VF25 PCGS. An appealing midgrade piece that shows glimpses of gold and forest-green against otherwise light silver-gray surfaces. The modestly marked surfaces are slightly glossy, and the eye appeal is high. The 1901-S is a highly elusive issue in all grades, but better circulated pieces are extremely challenging; most survivors are either heavily worn or Mint State, and only a handful of Fine to Extremely Fine pieces exist. There will never be enough to satisfy the demand of hundreds, if not thousands of Barber quarter enthusiasts. Population: 6 in 25, 53 finer (4/09).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23YR, PCGS# 5630, GSID# 5432)
