    Description

Condition Census 1902-O Quarter, Ex: Eliasberg

1902-O 25C MS 66 NGC. Ex: Eliasberg. One of the most attractive '02-O quarters that we have ever handled, this original Gem is only surpassed in technical quality by the NGC MS 67 example that we recently offered as lot 7291 in our June 2000 Long Beach Sale. Whispers of orange-olive and lavender-blue iridescence are noted on both sides and interrupt the otherwise silver-gray surfaces. Mark-free with razor sharp striking detail. NGC and PCGS combined report only four coins in MS 66 and one finer (5/00).
Ex: Purchased by J. M. Clapp directly from the New Orleans Mint (October, 1902); John H. Clapp; Clapp estate; Louis E. Eliasberg, Sr. (1942); Louis E. Eliasberg, Sr. Collection (Bowers & Merena, 4/97), lot 1577, where it realized $5,940. (NGC ID# 23YT, PCGS# 5632)

    Weight: 6.25 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
