Description

Seldom Encountered 1904-O Quarter in Gem BU

1904-O 25C MS 65 PCGS. Despite an original mintage of more than 2.4 million coins, the '04-O is surprisingly elusive in circulated as well as Mint State grades. Unquestionably rare as a Gem, this lovely coin is the province of advanced specialists. As befits the grade, the strike is uncommonly bold for an O-mint example and there are no detracting bagmarks. The otherwise silver-gray surfaces reveal dappled olive-russet, gold, and blue shadings about the rims. Population: 7 in 65, 6 finer (4/00).
