    Description

Among the Most Appealing 1905-S Barber Quarters, MS 66 PCGS

1905-S 25C MS 66 PCGS. This semi-key S-mint issue becomes progressively more difficult to locate with grade. We are pleased to offer one of the five MS 66 survivors certified between both NGC and PCGS. Although these grading services report two MS 67 examples finer (2/00), we doubt whether either of those coins could match this specimen's eye appeal. The original, somewhat dappled lavender-gray, golden, and blue-green iridescence is the first feature that greets the observer. Following close on its heels is the rich endowment of cartwheel luster. Finally, crisp striking detail and smooth surfaces round out this coin's list of memorable attributes. In sum, this is a quarter that would do justice to a collection of Superb Gems.
From the Dale Krueger Collection. (NGC ID# 23Z4, PCGS# 5641)
