Description
Lustrous, Beautifully Toned 1906-O Quarter
1906-O 25C MS66 PCGS. The 1906-O, like many O-mint Quarters from this series, was extensively circulated at the time of issue. As a result, most of the surviving examples are either low grade circulated coins or they were preserved in the lower grades of Uncirculated. Pleasing XF-AU and MS65 and better examples are quite elusive and eagerly sought out. This is a very attractive example whose thick mint frost is equally balanced with the rich tonal qualities on each side. The nearly flawless surfaces show reddish-gray centers that are several shades lighter on the reverse. The peripheries are surrounded by a band of rich sea-green patina. Well struck for an O-mint Quarter. Population: 16 in 66, 3 finer (1/03).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23Z7, PCGS# 5644, Greysheet# 5441)
Weight: 6.25 grams
Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
