    Description

    Superb, Finest Known 1907-O Quarter

1907-O 25C MS68 NGC. Ex: Eliasberg Collection. It is well known that the 1907-O is perceived by Lawrence as "The poorest struck coin in the series. Some coins have "mumps," some with small depressions in the cheek, others are simply distorted." Moreover, he suggests the 1907-O is an R.4 in grades of MS65 or higher. While one does not necessarily associate the 1907-O as being a rarity per se, the present example is certainly worth close attention by the connoisseur as it is the finest known example to either service (11/04). Medium gray toning is interspersed with flecks of antique-gold, lime-green, magenta, and sea-green at the rims. Well struck, save for stars 11 through 13 that show some notable weakness on the right side of the obverse. This is the finest 1907-O Quarter this cataloger has ever seen.(#5647) (Registry values: N7079) (NGC ID# 23ZA, PCGS# 5647)

    Weight: 6.25 grams
