    1909-S Barber Quarter, MS67
    Condition Census

1909-S 25C MS67 PCGS. The S-mint cent issues of 1909 garnered significant collector interest shortly after their release, but the quarter of this year fell by the wayside. A lack of large-scale numismatic interest in the Barber series as a whole was largely to blame, hindering the survival of high-grade examples. The Mint State population of the 1909-S quarter is distributed throughout the MS63 to MS66 grades with a number of resubmissions likely reflected in the official data. This remarkable piece is among a handful of Superb Gems that comprises the Condition Census. Technically observant numismatists will notice the pristine surfaces and the sharp definition of the eagle's right (facing) wing junction. The fletchings are partially soft. Frosty luster illuminates turquoise and lavender-gray hues on the obverse and mottled olive-gold on the reverse. Population: 3 in 67, 0 finer (9/15).(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 23ZK, PCGS# 5656)

    Weight: 6.25 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
