Description
1911-D Barber Quarter, Infrequently Offered Gem Condition
1911-D MS 65 PCGS. The 1911-D is a lower mintage D-mint issue. This, coupled with the fact that most examples entered circulation, helps to explain the conditionally rare status of the present survivor. The smoky golden-champagne patina is confined largely to the obverse, but both sides are equally frosty. There are no noticeable blemishes in the primary focal areas, and few anywhere else for that matter. Neither side displays the softness of strike that characterizes many branch mint Barber quarters. Population: 2 in 65, with a mere 3 finer (6/00).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23ZP, PCGS# 5660, Greysheet# 5452)
Weight: 6.25 grams
