    Description

Nicely Toned 1911-D Barber Quarter in MS 67

1911-D 25C MS 67 PCGS. Ex: Eliasberg. Quarter production at the Denver Mint fell to only 933,600 pieces in 1911. Despite this fact, however, the issue moves along at predictable prices until one reaches the Gem level. At and above MS 65, the issue reveals its true rarity, with this expertly preserved specimen standing as the finest certified survivor (5/00). Olive and gray shades compete for dominance over both sides, but a crescent of orange coloration interposes itself about the upper obverse denticles. There is not a single abrasion worthy of mention and, although not complete, the strike is well above average for the series.
    Ex: Louis E. Eliasberg, Sr. Collection (Bowers & Merena, 4/97), lot 1605, where it realized $14,300. (NGC ID# 23ZP, PCGS# 5660)

    Weight: 6.25 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
