    Description

    1913 Quarter, MS65
    Lightly Toned, Glowing Surfaces
    Elusive in Finer Grades

1913 25C MS65 PCGS. CAC. This exquisite Gem displays cinnamon-brown, olive-gray, and sea-green toning, along with full, frosty luster that delivers a shimmering effect when turned in-hand. The design elements are boldly struck, and the surfaces show only a handful of tiny contact marks, all on the obverse.

Population Data (9/15): PCGS reports 34 grading events in MS65 (two in MS65+) and nine finer. NGC shows 14 in MS65 (two in MS65+) and three finer.

Heritage Commentary: The 1913-P is a long-recognized condition rarity among circulation-issue Barber quarters, worth considerably more than a common date, even in lightly circulated condition. Although Gem examples are not prohibitively scarce, demand for them is heightened by the rarity of finer representatives.

    Provenance: Pittsburgh Signature (Heritage, 8/2004), lot 4098.(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 23ZU, PCGS# 5664)

    Weight: 6.25 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
