    Description

Vivid 1913 Barber Quarter Rarity, MS 66 PCGS

1913 25C MS 66 PCGS. The Philadelphia Mint delivered limited numbers of quarters and half dollars in 1913. The quarter, of which only 484,000 business strikes were produced, is the rarest P-mint in all grades. Indeed, David Lawrence (1994) asserts that this issue is "very scarce because of its low mintage..." A visually stunning Gem, the obverse displays dappled shades of intense emerald-green, orange-russet, olive, and crimson iridescence. The reverse is silver-white in appearance with the exception of flashy crimson-russet peripheral highlights. Both sides display pinpoint striking definition and radiant frosty luster, testimony to the care with which this coin was produced. An example whose eye appeal alone would do justice to the finest collection. NGC and PCGS combined have certified only two coins in MS 66 with a lone PCGS MS 67 specimen finer (7/00).
Ex: 1991 Chicago Sale (Akers/RARCOA), lot 446, where it realized $8,250.
    From the Glenn J. Church Collection. (NGC ID# 23ZU, PCGS# 5664)
