    Description

    Elusive 1913-S Quarter, VG10

1913-S 25C VG10 PCGS. The 1913-S is one of the three keys to the Barber quarter series, and has its lowest mintage (40,000 business strikes). The Choice VG example presented in this lot will fit ideally in a low to mid-grade Barber quarter collection. Slightly darker gray-blue fields highlight somewhat the design features, especially on the reverse. Each side portrays good detail for the grade: most of the leaves on the obverse wreath show, as do the letters LI and Y in LIBERTY (the T partially shows). On the reverse, most of the motto letters are clear, and there is some detail left in the eagle's wings, legs, and shield. Full rims exhibit relatively strong dentilation on the reverse. Wispy circulation marks on the obverse portrait are mentioned for complete accuracy.(Registry values: N1793) (NGC ID# 23ZW, PCGS# 5666)
