    Description

    1914-D Quarter, MS67
    Tied for Finest, Ex: Eliasberg

1914-D 25C MS67 PCGS. Ex: Eliasberg. Radiant mint luster is only the most outstanding feature of this beautiful D-mint Superb Gem. Closer inspection reveals surfaces as smooth as the day this quarter left the coining press. Both sides have since acquired a warm blanket of steel-lilac iridescence with freckles of orange coloration sprinkled over the obverse.

Population Data (9/15): The Eliasberg coin is tied with two others as the finest at PCGS and one in the same grade at NGC.

Heritage Commentary: Every issue in the Barber quarter series is conditionally rare at the Superb Gem grade level, but many are still available in lower grades. Despite a mintage of more than 3 million coins, the 1914-D quarter seldom appears above the Gem level.

    Provenance: Louis E. Eliasberg, Sr. Collection (Bowers & Merena, 4/1997), lot 1613; Philadelphia Signature (Heritage, 8/2000), lot 5861.(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 23ZY, PCGS# 5668)

    Weight: 6.25 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
