    1916 Barber Quarter, Glowing MS67
    Tied for Finest Known

1916 25C MS67 NGC. The dazzling luster on this Superb Gem final-year Barber quarter type coin captivates the eye, while the well-defined motifs and stellar surface preservation complete the visual appeal. The reverse is heavily frosted, while the obverse shows faint parallel die striations in the fields that aid in the spectacular surface glow. A blush of light golden toning graces each side.

Population Data (9/15): NGC and PCGS report four and two submissions in MS67, respectively, but none are finer at either service.

Heritage Commentary: The year 1916 rang down the curtain on the Barber design, but since the Standing Liberty quarter type was not put into production until December, more than 1.7 million examples of the Barber design were coined, making the issue ideal as a final-year type representative.

Provenance: Purchased privately from Heritage (6/2001).(Registry values: N4719)
