    Rare Superb Proof 1914 Barber Quarter

    1914 25C PR67 NGC. The 1914 proof quarter is distinctive because of its low mintage of only 380 pieces. This piece is surely at the top of those that survive of this scarce issue. The hairline-free example we offer here has deeply mirrored fields with lightly lustrous devices that yield a subtle cameo effect. This field-to-device contrast is evident, especially due to the coin's brilliant, untoned appearance. For pedigree purposes, a thin slidemark is visible (at certain angles) near the corner of Liberty's mouth. Census: 18 in 67, 7 finer (6/06).
