Philippe le Bon (1419-1467) gold Chaise d'or (Gouden schild klinkaert) 1454-1460 VF30 NGC, Ghent mint, Fr-181, Schneider-158 var (point secret), Delm-485. + PhS : DVX : BVRG x  | x COM x | FLΛD : hЄS : hOL' ZR, duke seated on Gothic throne, a sword in his right hand and his left supporting a shield; point secret beneath G of BVRG / + XPC 8 VIИCIT 8 XPC 8 RЄGИΛT 8 XPC 8 IИPЄRΛT, cross fleurée in quadrilobe with leaves on cusps and trefoils in spandrels; point secret beneath the G in RЄGИΛT. Typically struck for this rare type, the surfaces display moderate wear and an attractive coppery patina.
