Description

Flanders. Louis II de Mâle gold Lion d'Or ND (1346-1384) MS64 PCGS, Ghent mint, Fr-157, Delm-460 (R). 5.32gm. A consistently coveted Flanders emission featuring a rather interesting looking lion depiction in regal setting. Unfortunately the head of the lion was slightly obscured during the strike because the condition of the surfaces and presentability of the rest of the design elements are quite pristine. Well-centered, well-rounded, and containing a gorgeous coating of mint frost, this near-Gem would be a welcome addition to any high-end type set of Medieval hammered gold coinage.

Metal: Gold
Diameter: 34mm
