(1687) Medal Christopher Lord Albemarle, Silver, Betts-66 -- Graffiti -- PCGS Genuine. Unc Details. 46.5 mm, 2.6 to 3.1 mm thick, 39.9 gm. By Embosser in Ordinary George Bower. Peach surfaces are highlighted with amber and steel-blue, with undistracting, errant nicks. The obverse shows a richly clad bust of the Duke of Albemarle as Lieutenant General and Governor General of Jamaica. The reverse shows sea god Neptune with a trident reclining on an urn, watching Sir William Phipps' salvage ships on the horizon preparing to raise treasure on Silver Shoals that will bring the duke £90,000 before his death in 1688.
