    Betts-126. 1720 John Law. Silver. XF. 32.3 mm, 10.2 gm. Unsigned. The obverse of this medal displays a partially clothed man, squatting while lighting his pipe with scrip and defecating coins, some of which have wings and are flying away. Text on the reverse translates as, "Come, behold the people of France. Mr. Law doeth great things" and "Behold, the renowned Law, by usury of gain, gives great wealth." Luster remains in the protected areas of this piece. Attractive toning is present as well, in intermingled hues of gold, orange, and blue.
