    Description

1759 Death of Wolfe Medal, Betts-422 in Bronze

Betts-422. 1759 Death of Wolfe. Bronze. Choice About Uncirculated. Even and attractive light brown with hints of more colorful toning over reflective surfaces. Some minor cloudiness is apparent in the fields, hints of some old verdigris atop Wolfe's head, dull mark between S of JACOBUS and W of WOLFE. A high grade example of this rarity, nicer than LaRiviere's and Ford's, which was cleaned and not terribly attractive. This may be as rare in bronze as it is in silver. 36.9 mm, 336.3 grains.
    Ex: Paul Patterson (6/1986).
From The John W. Adams Collection of French and Indian War Medals.

The marketing was exceptional from the photos to the ads in Civil War Times and North South Trader for the cross over people!!! I have had many emails from my Civil War collecting fraternity that saw these and I saw them at the national show in Nashville/Franklin in early December.
