    Description

    Silver 1762 Victories Medal, Betts-441

Betts-441. Victories of 1762. Silver. About Uncirculated. Mostly brilliant, with light peripheral toning on the obverse and a more overall covering of delicate variegated toning on the reverse. Lightly polished long ago and showing some minor hairlines, still showing strong natural reflectivity on the reverse and good eye appeal on both sides. Die flawed, as usual, among lettering inside 5:00, double striking subtle but apparent. The most important of the battles listed on Betts-441 is the taking of Havana, an effort that included thousands of American troops. The conquests of Martinique and Newfoundland also used a large number of American provincial troops, many of whom would take up arms against Great Britain just over a decade later. 40.9 mm, 322.2 grains.
Ex: John J. Ford, Jr. (1967).

The marketing was exceptional from the photos to the ads in Civil War Times and North South Trader for the cross over people!!! I have had many emails from my Civil War collecting fraternity that saw these and I saw them at the national show in Nashville/Franklin in early December.
