    Description

    1763 Betts-444 Peace Triumphs Medal

Betts-444. 1763 Peace Triumphs Everywhere. Bronze. About Uncirculated. Dusky dark chocolate brown and mahogany with light haze on the surfaces. Some hints of harmless verdigris are noted inside the obverse rims, slight granularity atop reverse. Obverse die broken at bust truncation, rim cuds visible right of 6:00 and closer to 7:00 at the tip of the curls. The texture of this piece seems to place it in the early 19th century, prior to the beginning of Paris Mint edge marking ca. 1842. 41.8 mm, 472.8 grains
