    Description

    1701 American Aloe Plant, VF
    Betts-105, Silver

Betts-105. 1701 American Aloe Plant. Silver. VF. 42.3 mm, 39.7 gm. Signed by Heinrich Peter Grosskurt (1694-1734), a die-cutter in Berlin and Dresden. The obverse of the Betts-105 medals includes more central design elements than the Betts-104 examples, arguably providing greater visual appeal, including a double row of shrubs, steeper rocks, and water that falls more perpendicularly. The reverse is the same as Betts-104 aside from a minor change from OC. to OCT. Areas of subtle gold toning are present on this lovely example displaying minor rim anomalies, as made.
