    Description

1853 One-Cent, Judd-151, Pollock-178, R.5, PR 63 PCGS. Small cent pattern with the obverse design similar to the quarter eagle, the reverse has ONE CENT in the center, surrounded by a laurel wreath. Struck in either German silver or a nickel alloy with a reeded edge. Medium gray patina with mild iridescent undertones. An unusual pattern, we are surprised this is not scarcer than R.5. (PCGS# 60151)
