Brightly Mirrored 1855 Large Cent Pattern, Judd-168

1855 Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-168 Original, Pollock-193, R.4, PR 63 Brown, NGC. The design shows a large eagle surrounded by 13 stars on the obverse, while on the reverse ONE CENT is surrounded by a thick laurel wreath which is, in turn, surrounded by UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Struck in copper or bronze with a plain edge. The golden-tan patina shows a strong element of underlying red color on each side but not enough to warrant consideration in the total color scheme. Lightly spotted with a fingerprint on each side and a spot placed at the back of the trailing wing of the eagle.

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29AG, PCGS# 11720)
