    Scarce, Transitional 1858 Indian Cent Pattern

    1858 Cent, Judd-212, Pollock-256, R.7, PR 63 PCGS. The obverse design as adopted in 1859 is paired with a reverse that displays ONE CENT in the center surrounded by an oak wreath and broad, ornamented shield at the top. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. Bright red color, the most noticeable surface flaws are a few short scratches in the field below the F in OF.
