    Description

    Bright PR 64 1859 Pattern Cent, Judd-226

1859 Indian Cent, Judd-226, Pollock-270, R.7, PR 64 NGC. Indian cent pattern that differs from the adopted design by the oak wreath on the reverse rather than the laurel wreath on the regular dies. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. Bright overall, not just in the fields, with the pale surfaces from the nickel alloy that gave these pieces the name "white cents." Flyspecks of carbon are scattered over each side and account for the grade. (PCGS# 60226)
