    Description

Bronzed 1862 Ten Dollar Pattern, Judd-297

1862 Ten Dollar, Judd-297, Pollock-355, R.7, PR 64 Brown PCGS. The obverse is of the regular eagle dies for 1862. The reverse is similar to the regular dies design with the addition of the motto GOD OUR TRUST on a scroll above the eagle. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. Even reddish-brown patina covers both sides of this attractive near-gem. Apparently bronzed to achieve the lovely surfaces, close examination reveals several areas of carbon spotting beneath the bronzing. From the Lynch Collection of U.S. Patterns.

    Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 60297)
