    1863 Washington Two Cents Pattern, Judd-305

    1863 Two Cents, Judd-305, Pollock-370, R.4, PR 64 Red and Brown PCGS. Head of Washington on the obverse with the experimental motto GOD AND OUR COUNTRY above and date below. The reverse is similar to the adopted design but the word CENTS is curved at a sharp angle. Struck in bronze with a plain edge. Much of the original cherry-red color shows with an occasional smudge of light brown on each side. A small carbon spot is located on the back of Washington's shoulder.
