    Description

    Flashy PR 62 1879 Metric Dollar, Judd-1617

1879 Metric Dollar, Judd-1617, Pollock-1813, R.3, PR 62 PCI. William Barber's Metric Dollar with Liberty wearing a coronet with a border of pearls. The reverse is quite elaborate with a partial wreath of cotton and corn tied at the base with a ribbon and with DEO EST GLORIA on a tablet above. Struck in silver of metric alloy with a reeded edge. This is a lightly toned piece, designated as 75% toned by PCI, exhibiting blue and violet coloration primarily about the obverse periphery. Both sides display strong reflectivity in the fields amidst wispy hairlines. Choicer quality than is often encountered on this popular metric design. (NGC ID# 2A94, PCGS# 61617)
