    1885 Snowden Dollar, Judd-1747

1885 Snowden Dollar, Judd-1747, Pollock-1959, R.6, PR 62 PCGS. The obverse and reverse design is the same as was used on regular issue Morgan dollars, but the edge is lettered, not reeded. The edge design appears as: * * * * * * E */PLURIBUS * / UNUM * * * * * *. The collar containing the edge lettering was composed of three equal segments, each with an arc of 120 degrees, equal to one-third of the circumference. Struck in silver. A very deeply toned example with no mentionable marks or problems, but too lackluster for a finer grade.
