Description
PCGS 1859 Half Dollar, Judd-242, Pollock-298, R.5, PR 65 Brown. Paquet's design for the obverse resembles the Greek god Dionysus with a ribbon inscribed LIBERTY set at odd angles at the base of the neck. The reverse has 50 CENTS in the center and is surrounded by a large wreath. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. For a brown coin this piece is quite colorful with lime-green and rose as secondary, underlying colors. (NGC ID# 98ZX, PCGS# 60242)
