Description
PCGS 1868 Ten-Cents, Judd-646, R.7, PR 64. An unusual and rare pattern with a small shield and inverted wreath on the obverse and a legend that reads EXCHANGED FOR U.S. NOTES. The reverse is laid out in a peculiar fashion also with ONE DIME in the center, a six-pointed star above, the date below, and all surrounded by a wreath of cotton, corn, and tobacco. Struck in aluminum with a plain edge. The surfaces are bright and flashy, and there are no traces of oxidation. A rare and interesting pattern.
