Includes 22 wooden plaques recognizing Newman's contributions to numismatics by the following organizations: American Numismatic Association (4); Central States Numismatic Society (3); Currency Club of Chester County (1); International Bank Note Society (1); Long Island Coin Club (1); Missouri Numismatic Society (2); Numismatic Bibliomania Society (2); Numismatic Literary Guild (3); Numismatic News (2); Old Timer Assay Commission Society (1); Professional Numismatists Guild (1); and Society of Paper Money Collectors (1). Three plastic plaques with medals for the ANA's Educational Forum are also present. Non-numismatic awards conferred by the Edison Brothers Stores and Washington University are included. Various certificates, some of them framed, also accompany this lot. One of the Central States Numismatic Society plaques thanks Newman for serving as Secretary for the 1939-1940 term. A couple of the pieces are worn or broken, but most are fine. Estimate $300.
