    Very Rare Bechtel Album for Confederate Currency

    Bechtel, C.H. Album for Confederate Currency, Containing Numbered Spaces for the Insertion of a Specimen of Each Type of the Notes, Issued by Authority of the Confederate Government, Together with a Descriptive Index... New York, 1877. Oblong 8vo, original black half morocco, gilt; spine with five raised bands, ruled and lettered in gilt; marbled endpapers; all page edges red. (8) pages of text; 90 numbered + 10 unnumbered leaves, each with a decorative border, some varying in size. Some signs, including small stains, that notes were once affixed to most of the album leaves though none are present now. Very rare. Fine. Estimate $600.
