    Eric P. Newman Correspondence Files:
    Miscellaneous Correspondence

Newman, Eric P. Miscellaneous Correspondence. A large and remarkably varied archive of ten boxes of correspondence and other material, primarily consisting of original letters to Eric P. Newman and carbon copies of Newman's letters in return, as well as many other associated printed or written items. Most materials are well-preserved, and arranged in file folders by the name of the recipient.

This final section of the Newman Archives includes some very substantive correspondence files, but the focus of the correspondence is broader or more variable than what is called for to classify the file differently. It also includes correspondence on subjects that are not represented frequently enough in the archives to merit their own topical classification here. There are approximately 230 different correspondence files brought together in this lot, which includes well in excess of 10,000 pages.

Truth Seeker: The Life of Eric P. Newman (softcover)
A powerful and intimidating dealer of the 1960s, backed by important colleagues, was accused of selling fraudulent gold coins and ingots to unsuspecting numismatists. Who would go up against a man like that and, over the course of decades, prove the fraud? Who would expose a widely respected scholar as a thief, then doggedly pursue recovery of coins that the scholar had stolen from an embarrassed numismatic organization, all over the objections of influential collectors who had bought coins with clouded titles? Eric P. Newman would - and did. Reserve your copy today.
