Type III crowned "600" countermark, struck on a Spanish Philip IV Cob 8 Reales 1662-A from the Madrid mint. A specimen that has witnessed significant use and circulation, having been revalidated as a 600 Reis late in its life. Allover porosity has enveloped this piece throughout its 400-year existence, thus the noted environmental damage designation on the holder.
