Description

Alfonso VI Counterstamped 75 Reis ND (1663) VF30 NGC, KM26, LMB-48. Type IV crowned "75" countermarked (VF Standard). A double-countermarked issue, representing two separate revalidations 25 years apart. Struck upon a 1/2 Tostao of Spain, first with a 1643 revalidation "60" counterstamp, followed by a 1663 revalidation crowned "75." A rare combination on the slightly off-center survivor, exhibiting flan cracks and a chip that is typical of this early hammered issue.
