    Gaston d'Orleans bronze and wood Medal Pair 1871,
    1) Bronze - AU. 33mm/18.74g. VC-50. By Luster. Slightly variegated patina.
    2) Wood - UNC. 32mm/3.1g. VC-50. By Luster. Essentially as made.

    A most-interesting set of awards with the bust of Gaston d'Orleans on the obverse who was Princess Imperial Isabel's husband as well as Count of Eu and Marshall of the Brazilian Army. The reverse details this award as given by the employees of the Brazilian mint to the victor of the Pirebebuy and Campo-Grande conflicts during the war Paraguayan War.
