João Prince Regent Counterstamped 640 Reis ND (1809) XF40 NGC, Bahia mint, KM300, LMB-232. Displaying shield counterstamp (XF Standard) on a Jose I 600 Reis 1756-B (cf. KM187). A better host for the revaluated type, aimed at securing an added 40 Reis for the national treasury. For comparison, the next finest we have offered as a VF25, which brought $763 in our January 2017 NYINC sale.From the Vila Rica Collection
